The classic pouch is an EDC offering from Bellroy, (the company that makes really good wallets) it comes in a vast array of great colours,  the “Red Earth” option being especially eye catching and the one I went for. Bellroy markets the Classic pouch as an EDC case, which suggests it could have a multitude of uses such as a tech organiser, dopp kit or pencil case, to name a few. The classic pouch is constructed from a water resistant polyester woven fabric, it looks and feels like a quality piece of kit. Design wise, it is on the smaller side and quite basic, with limited internal organisation. The case has a wide opening main compartment with 3 separate internal pockets, 1 large and 2 small. The large pocket loosely secured with a magnetic button, while the 2 small pockets cannot be fasten closed.

I used the Classic pouch on a recent trip away at work, putting it through its paces as a tech organiser, and all in all the results were a bit of a mixed bag.  First the positives, it’s well made, able to handle the rigours of travel and will stand the test of time. I liked the chunky zip and the large zipper fob, ensuring easy opening and secure closing of the main compartment. The zip is far superior and so much better than the flimsy zippers you get on some of the other EDC organisers out there. Now the negatives, and to put it bluntly, it’s too small and lacks any real internal organisation. In this case the negatives outweigh the positives, so I will not be using the classic pouch again, that’s not to say it’s bad, it’s just not the right choice for me. On the whole the Classic Pouch is a perfectly fine travel case and I’m sure it will be the ideal choice for some people. That being said, I do have one major gripe with the classic pouch, and that is the asking price of £45! Which is a lot money to hand over for what is essentially a very basic, generically designed (albeit well made) travel case, even if it does say Bellroy on the side.

The Good:

  • Excellent choice of colours
  • Well made
  • Great for a few laptop accessories/ EDC essentials.

The Bad:

  • On the small side
  • Basic design
  • Expensive

Sum Up:

If you want a well made space efficient EDC pouch from a quality brand and don’t mind paying the high asking price the Classic Pouch is a good choice.
