2. Sail the Whitsundays
Anyone who likes sailing, great weather and beautiful white sand beaches should definitely put the Whitsundays on the to do list. These islands are the closest thing paradise. Be sure to spend a few days in Airlie beach, this laidback town has some great restaurants and bars, as well as the stunning Whitehaven beach, with the Cedar Creek falls is only a short drive away.
3. Dive The Blue Hole in Belize
One of the truly great diving experiences out there. This enormous sink hole is 218m across and 125m deep. The descent in to the blue hole is something special. Leave the surface and sunlight behind as you descend deeper into the abyss and what feels like another world. Stick to the sides of the hole to see the amazing formations of stalactites, big enough for you to swim between them. There’s an abundance of wildlife in this biodiverse environment, keep your eyes open for reef sharks, black tip sharks and nurse sharks emerging out of the blueish green half-light.
4. Antarctic Expedition
Take an expedition to the frozen continent. Explore unique icescapes where you will find colossal mountains, formidable glaciers, spectacular views, and of course the famed wildlife of Antarctica. The Southern Polar region is home to many species of birds, seals and whales, such as Emperor penguins, Leopard seals, Snowy Albatross, there are even giant Blue whales somewhere in the icy depths. Antartica is one of the last frontiers of the world, and an absolute must for any bucket list.
5. Kayak The Zambezi River
Last but by no means least, the mighty Zambezi river. At Victoria falls this gigantic river drops 108m down into Bakota gorge creating a serious amount of white water and some of the best rapids in the world. Make the most of the lulls between rapids by taking in the breathtaking views of Bakora gorge.This is bucket list stuff.
